Strong performance by the Challenger Sails freestylers at the Brouwersdam
Mattia Fabrizi wins EFPT Tow-in Competition at the DAM-X 2019, Netherlands, 9. – 13.10.2019, Eugenio Marconi came in 2nd in the U18
Mattia Fabrizi, who came into the final with the highest score, couldn’t manage to repeat his air burner into air funnel in his first round, but he stomped a perfect one in the second run scoring 9,25 points and claiming victory. He won against Sam Esteve this time, who defeated the Challenger team rider in Austria earlier this year in a close battle. Just 0.25 points separated them. Balz Müller, the wild Swiss freestyler, made it in third place. Mattia won the most of the 3000 € prize money and was the best of 16 competitors. Bravo Mattia, congrats!!!
Mattia as well showed a great performance in the windsurfing event. He had a strong comeback in the double elimination, when the wind blew with 25 to 35 knots at the lagoon of Brouwersdam in Zeeland, Netherlands. He finished the EFPT final in 7th and the tour in 7th place, too. He is the second best ranked Italian.
A big congrats goes to young Challenger freestyle rider Eugenio Marconi, who managed to make it in 2nd place in the U18 category. Just Nil Bacon from France performed better this season. „Eugenio Marconi, EFPT U18 Champion from last year was fighting to defend his title and showed some amazing skills, however couldn’t decide the last event in his favor.“ Hanna Poschinger, EFPT press. But Eugenia will have a bright future, if he continues like he did in the past year. He can nail many of the very difficult freestyle tricks and lands them clean. And he as well made a great ranking in the men pro category in 16th place, what could guarantee him a place in the PWA pro fleet for 2020. It’s limited to 32 riders!! Very well done Eugenio!!! ChallengerSails is proud of you and Mattia performing that well on the Challenger 4Pro sails and masts!!!
